An Emmy Q&A With Will Forte and Amy Poehler On ‘SNL’, Andy Samberg and Their Nominations
The pair goes back a long way. But the former Saturday Night Live castmates hadn’t been in touch for a few months before getting on the phone to celebrate their multiple 2015 Emmy nominations. Poehler is up for four as star and producer of Parks and Recreation, as well as co-host and co-writer of the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, while Forte snagged two noms for starring in and writing the pilot of his first-year Fox hit The Last Man on Earth. Lily Tomlin Is Celebrating an Amazing Year With an Emmy Nod and Maybe an Oscar Nod, Too
In the Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie, the veteran actress plays longtime “frenemies” — with Jane Fonda — who become roomies after their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) disclose their 20-year love affair with each other. Fonda plays Grace, for whom a Type A personality might be too mellow, and Tomlin plays Frankie, an earth mother who’s open to everyone — even the uptight Grace. Tomlin also has Grandma hitting theaters this week. (LAT)

Miles Teller Circles ‘American Sniper’ Writer’s Directorial Debut
The Whiplash and Fantastic Four star is in early negotiations to star in Thank You for Your Service, DreamWorks’ post-traumatic stress disorder drama. Jason Hall, who scored an Oscar nomination for writing American Sniper, wrote the script and is making his directorial debut. The script follows three U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life. (THR)

Tom Holland has joined the hugely anticipated new film by James Gray. Holland’s role has not been disclosed, but he’s joining Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, and Sienna Miller. Film just recently started production in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and will next shoot for several weeks in Colombia. (COL)
CBS Likes Being In the Mark Harmon Business, Will Continue With New Navy SEAL Drama
Harmon, who stars on NCIS and also executive produces both that show and its spinoff, NCIS: New Orleans, is working with the network to bring a Navy SEAL sniper drama to the air. The project is called The Red Circle. CBS has only signed on for a script commitment, but it is based on the bestseller The Red Circle: My Life In The Navy SEAL Corps And How I Trained America’s Deadliest Marksmen written by Brandon Webb and John David Mann. Netflix and Brad Pitt’s ‘War Machine’ Adds a Member Of the Breakfast Club To Its Cast
Anthony Michael Hall will star opposite Pitt in the online streaming service’s satirical comedy about the U.S.’s engagement in the conflict in Afghanistan slated to be released in 2016. Film is written and directed by David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) and based on Michael Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan. (VAR)
Trailer Buzz: ‘The Martian’
Twentieth Century Fox has released the latest look at the upcoming sci-fi thriller, starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Sebastian Stan, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover and Kristen Wiig, directed by Ridley Scott and based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir. It premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival next month before an October 2nd release. (IW)
