Rep Moves for 9/30/15: Ed Westwick Shifts to ICM, Eric McCormack Moves to Gersh, Actor/Writer Matt Lucas Signs with WME

Gersh: Actor Eric McCormack, best known for Will & Grace, has switched from ICM Partners to Gersh. Last pilot season he had a lead role in Fox’s dramedy, Studio City, which ultimately was not ordered. He will next be seen opposite Parker Posey in the independent film The Architect, which is slated for a 2016 release. McCormack is also repped by manager Leanne Coronel.

WME: Actor/writer/producer Matt Lucas has signed with WME. In the UK, he’s known for co-creating and co-starring in the comedy series Little Britain and Come Fly With Me. His other credits include Bridesmaids, Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland and its latest sequel. On the TV side, he recently was cast in the comedy series Fresh Off The Boat and Galavant in the UK. His next feature is, How To Talk To Girls At Parties, starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning. Lucas continues to be repped by Melanie Rockcliffe at Troika Talent.

WME: Canadian writer-director Jamie Dagg was just snagged by WME in a competitive situation. His debut film, River, premiered in TIFF’s Discovery section, with XYZ Films handling the U.S. rights. The thriller stars Rossif Sutherland and follows an American volunteer doctor in Laos on a leave of absence. But, after he intervenes in the sexual assault of a young Laotian woman, accidentally killing her assailant, he is forced to go on the run. Elevation Pictures acquired Canadian rights prior to the TIFF premiere.

ICM: Actor Ed Westwick, best known for his role on Gossip Girl, has shifted from WME to ICM Partners. He can next be seen alongside Erika Christensen in the new ABC drama series Wicked City, which premieres October 27. On the feature side, he can next be seen in Sony’s The Kitchen Sink and Bone in the Throat alongside Tom Wilkinson.

WME: Filmmaker Shane Carruth has signed with WME. He is known for directing the Sundance favorite films Primer and Upstream Color which he not only wrote, directed, produced, directed, co-starred, but also composed the music and organize theatrical distribution through his company erpbFilm. WME will package his next film, the big-budgeted action adventure, The Modern Ocean, which he will direct and produce.

ESA/Paul Alan Smith: Director Oded Ruskin is now a client of ESA and Paul Alan Smith. He recently directed an Israeli series, False Flag, which world premiered at the Berlinale’s inaugural Special Series section and won the Grand Prize at Series Mania, with sales launching at MIPCOM ahead of its Kesht Broadcast premiere later this year. He will continue to be repped by Kneller Artists in Israel as well.
