ICM Partners/Circle of Confusion: Oscar nominee and three-time Tony winner Frank Langella has shifted from Paradigm to ICM and has additionally signed with Circle of Confusion for management. He currently is shooting HBO’s LBJ film All The Way alongside Bryan Cranston as the president. In it, Langella plays LBJ’s mentor Sen. Richard Russell. Langella will next be seen opposite Viggo Mortenson in Captain Fantastic and continues to appear on the FX’s The Americans.
WME: Actor Michael Weatherly has signed with the agency. He currently stars on NCIS and previous to the signing had been without agency representation. He will continue to be managed by Anonymous Content. Last year the actor inked an overall development deal with NCIS producer CBS TV Studios with his shingle, Solar Drive Productions. Under the deal, Weatherly is executive producing a gritty drama adaptation of Little Women for the CW.
UTA: Makeup artist and vlogger Kandee Johnson has signed with the agency and will look to created opportunities for her across digital distribution, television and book publishing. She currently has upwards of 4.8 million followers across her various social media platforms, which includes over 3.3 million subscribers on YouTube. Her videos, which range from how-to tutorials to her popular series of elaborate transformations, have garnered over 329 million views. Johnson is also the head beauty editor for Conde Nast’s digital video division Conde Nast Entertainment.
WME: UK based Vine personality Ben Phillips has signed with the agency in multiple verticals, including book publishing, digital platforms, television, commercials and personal appearances. Known as a comedian and prankster, he boasts 1.3 million followers on Vine and 3.5 million likes on Facebook and is also a member of the Viner focused Collab digital network which helps Vine stars to translate their audiences across multiple platforms.
Verve: British film director Paul Katis has signed with Verve. He directed the war drama, Kilo Two Bravo which was nominated for a BAFTA when it was known as Kajaki: The True Story. The film just made its North American premiere at TIFF where it was acquired by Search Engine and Honora to be released on VOD on November 10 in the U.S. followed by a theatrical rollout beginning November 13. Katis previously worked years editing, producing, and directing TV commercials before transitioning to narrative films. He is also repped in the UK by Casarotto Ramsay and Associates.
Verve: Screenwriter Tom Williams has also signed with Verve. He penned Kilo Two Bravo. He is also repped in the UK by United Agents. He previously wrote the feature Chalet Girls, starring Felicity Jones, which was released by IFC in 2011.
