CAA: Barbra Streisand is shifting from UTA to CAA for representation in all areas. The Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy winner’s most recent acting role was in 2012’s The Guilt Trip with Seth Rogen. She is signed on to play the iconic Rose role in the film Gypsy, but the project has been put in turnaround at Universal.
UTA: Writer-producer duo Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have shifted from CAA to UTA. They’re recent work includes Jurassic World, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. They are producing War For The Planet of the Apes and both wrote the story for In the Heart of the Sea and the screenplay for Avatar 3.
UTA: Actor Michael Ealy has signed with UTA for representation in all areas. He was seen in Think Like A Man and Think Like A Man Too, About Last Night and The Perfect Guy. In TV, Ealy was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2005 for his role in Showtime’s Sleeper Cell, and also starred in Fox’s Almost Human which was canceled last year. He will next be seen alongside Juliette Lewis on Season 2 of ABC’s Secrets & Lies.
APA: Actor Bailey Chase has signed with APA for representation. He was previously in Longmire and will be seen in David Lynch’s upcoming Twin Peaks follow-up series for Showtime and on NBC’s supernatural cop drama Grimm. Chase continues to be managed by Untitled.
CAA: Sam Esmail has shifted from ICM Partners to CAA. He created the breakout hit, Mr. Robot for USA. In addition to showrunning duties he’s also directed three episodes of the series. Additionally, Esmail recently inked his first overall deal, a seven-figure pact with Universal Cable Prods. which is behind his series. He will continue to be repped by Anonymous Content’s Chad Hamilton and attorney Jeff Frankel.
WME: Writers-producer-showrunners Patrick Massett and John Zinman have shifted from CAA to WME. They currently have an overall deal with Sony Pictures TV. They have co-executive produced The Blacklist and Last Resort for Sony Pictures TV. Previously they worked on Friday Night Lights and wrote for Caprica, The Chicago Code and The Finder. They currently executive produce The Player for NBC.
ICM Partners: Actress Annaleigh Ashford has signed with ICM Partners. She’s best known for playing Betty on Masters of Sex. She won a Tony Award last year for her part in the Broadway revival of You Can’t Take It With You, in which she currently stars opposite Matthew Broderick.
UTA: Actress Uzo Aduba has shifted from APA to UTA. She’s known for her part on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black and has earned two Emmy Awards for her breakout role as Crazy Eyes. She will next appear as Glinda the Good Witch on NBC’s The Wiz Live!, alongside Queen Latifah. In film, Aduba currently is in production on Lakeshore’s American Pastoral, starring Ewan McGregor in his directorial debut, she just wrapped Tallulah opposite Ellen Page and Showing Roots opposite Maggie Grace.
