It happened so fast. Suddenly it’s the holiday and awards season and time to bust out the credit cards for gifts and your pens for film ballots. This year is no different as December promises a month full of award nomination polls opening and a busy holiday season. Against the backdrop of sure-to-be Oscar nominated films like Macbeth headed to theaters, the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is being heralded as the juggernaut to beat at the box office with nary a competitor that will come close. Come Christmas day, there will be an onslaught of major releases, though, in the form of The Hateful Eight, The Revenant, Daddy’s Home, Point Break, Joy and Concussion. On the TV side, Netflix will stack up your queue with new shows that include F is for Family and Dawn of the Croods, among others.
