Riding a High With His Latest Portrayal Of ‘Rocky’, Sylvester Stallone Is Now Developing a ‘Rambo’ TV Show
Fox is currently working with Sly to make a father-son show based off of his Rambo franchise. Network closed the development deal early this week on Rambo: New Blood, which will focus on Rambo’s relationship with his ex-Navy Seal son, J.R., with the focus largely being on an aging John Rambo. Stallone is expected to return to the role he originated. Jeb Stuart wrote the pilot and would likely lead the writer’s room if the series was okayed (COL)

Previously behind the first two Home Alones, Gremlins, Jingle All The Way and Christmas With The Cranks, the producer/director is developing yet another seasonal movie. He’s part of the team putting together a family adventure called 12/24. Story involves two brothers who find an old home video proving the existence of Santa. They then set a trap to catch him, but when it goes wrong and Santa gets injured, our boys have to save Christmas. (EMP)
Sierra Pictures Corrals ‘The Perfect Guy’ Helmer To Direct Its Thriller, ‘How It Ends’
David M. Rosenthal, who hit a home run helming the September box office hit, has boarded the production company’s action thriller. The Black List script from Brooks McLaren centers on a mysterious apocalyptic event that turns the roads into mayhem, and a young father will stop at nothing to get home to his pregnant wife on the other side of the country. TruTV Renews Comedy ‘Those Who Can’t,’ Puts Three New Scripted Pilots in Development
Continuing to ramp up scripted programming, cable net has renewed its first-ever scripted series for a second season months ahead of its premiere. The cabler has also put three new scripted projects into development. The pre-launch renewal is an unprecedented move for the cable net, which has ordered 13 episodes for the second season of Those Who Can’t. (VAR)
Trailer Buzz: ‘Outlander’
Starz has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the hit show, adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling series of novels. The show will return in the spring. (CS)
