Rep Moves for 12/2/15: Simon Cowell Shifts to WME, CAA Snags Oscar Winner Chris Terrio & Digital Star Logan Paul

CAA: Oscar-winning screenwriter of Argo, Chris Terrio, has re-signed with CAA. Previously he was with WME for two years. He recently wrote the script for the highly anticipated tentpole Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and will also pen the Justice League films. His writing credits also include A Foreigner at Paramount, Tell No One at Warner Bros and Universal, and The Ends Of The Earth at The Weinstein Company.

WME: Mega-reality star and producer Simon Cowell and his shingle Syco Entertainment have shifted from CAA to WME. Cowell will work with WME to expand Syco’s film, scripted and unscripted television departments as well as its music brands. He will next be seen on the judging panel of NBC’s new season of America’s Got Talent, which he co-created and executive produces. On the film side, Syco produced the 2013 One Direction 3D documentary This Is Us. Earlier in 2015, Syco joined with Kenny Ortega on a music-driven film set up at Sony Pictures.

UTA: Two-time Oscar nominee for In America and Lowdown, Samantha Morton has been signed by UTA. The English actress will next be seen in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the spinoff trilogy from the Harry Potter franchise. Further out she will appear in the British TV series The Last Panthers. Previously she starred in BBC’s Cider With Rosie and made her directorial debut on Oscilloscope Pictures’ The Unloved, which won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Single Drama.

CAA: Digital star Logan Paul has shifted from UTA to CAA for representation in all areas. He is the 2015 winner of the Streamy Award for Best Short Form Comedian. He has a combined audience of more than 20 million including 8.8 million on Vine. He also has 300 million video views and counting via Facebook. He’s a multi-hyphenate as a comedian, actor, writer, director and digital creator. He’s partnered with Pepsi, HBO, Virgin Mobile, Disney, Nike’s Air Jordan, Hanes and Verizon, among others, for digital marketing campaigns.

UTA: Digital star Deva Dalporto has signed with UTA. She’s known for creating mom-themed parody videos to popular songs including the viral hit “I Just Need Some Space” which garnered over 10 million views. Previously she was a Senior Editor for Nickelodeon’s parenting website. Dalporto’s videos have received a combined 50 million views across YouTube, her blog mylifesuckers.com and major parenting websites. This year, whe was awarded with a BlogHer Voice of the Year Award for her work in video.
