Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylist Nominations: ‘Star Wars’, ‘Black Mass’ and More

The Guild Awards have been announced in 23 categories covering motion pictures, TV, commercials and live theater. Winners will be revealed February 20th at Paramount Studios. That’s where make-up artist Ve Neill and hair stylist Yolanda Toussieng will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards. (AL)

With the Oscar Nominations Coming Out In the Morning, One Look At How It Will All Shake Out

One website goes so far as to break down every possible nomination for every film, and seems to think that the big winner tomorrow is going to be Mad Max: Fury Road, with 10 nominations, while Carol, The Revenant, The Martian and Spotlight will all have good days, as well. (GD)

Today In Reboot News: ‘Chronicles Of Narnia’ Will Get the Treatment With ‘The Silver Chair

It’s been six years since the last movie in the Chronicles of Narnia franchise debuted in theaters, and as it was the worst performer at the box office in the franchise. It seemed like the series was finally over. Now, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair will feature characters from the world of Narnia that we haven’t seen in the movies yet. (SF)

It Appears ‘Aquaman’ Has Found Its Queen Of Atlantis In the Form Of Amber Heard

Director James Wan’s film doesn’t hit theaters until 2018 and there are several DC Comics film that come before then, but casting is beginning to shape up around Jason Momoa’s ruler of Atlantis, and the first solid name to pop up is Heard. (COL)

Anonymous Content Signs Groundbreaking Deal With Arab Media Group MBC

On the heels of becoming the first indie to win best picture and best drama at the Golden Globes — for The Revenant and Mr Robot, respectively — company will now work with MBC subsidiary 03 Productions to advise them on developing and producing both Arabic and English-language content. The deal allows MBC access to Anonymous’ creative know-how, experience and, in specific cases, talent roster. (DH)

NBC Has No Further Plans For the ‘Heroes’ Franchise Once ‘Heroes Reborn’ Ends Its Run Tomorrow

Network, for the second time, is bringing Heroes to an end. Speaking with reporters after his time on stage today at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt confirmed that Heroes Reborn, the revival of the Tim Kring drama,will not be back for an additional season.
