CAA: Former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has signed with the agency to be repped in all areas including books and speaking engagements. One of President Obama’s longest-serving Cabinet members, Duncan resigned at the end of last year after serving as Secretary of Education beginning in January 2009. Duncan previously served as superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools from 2001 to 2009.
WME: Actor JJ Totah has signed with the agency. Most recently he starred alongside Jesse Plemons and Molly Shannon in the Sundance Film Festival dark comedy Other People. He was also Glee‘s youngest castmember in that show’s final season and was a series regular on ABC’s Back In The Game.
UTA: Actress Evangeline Lilly has signed with UTA. She’s best known for starring in Lost and the second and third installment of The Hobbit, along with roles in Real Steel and The Hurt Locker. Most recently she appared in Marvel’s Ant-Man as Hope Van Dyne and will be a co-lead in the sequel, Ant-Man And The Wasp.
Paradigm: Actress Royalty Hightower has signed with the agency in a competitive situation. The 10-year old is the breakout star of The Fits. The film was Anna Rose Holmer’s NEXT entry at the Sundance Film Festival and premiered at the Venice Film Festival. The film was picked up by Oscilloscope Laboratories for U.S. release, and Holmer will next screen the feature as part of the New Directors/New Films Festival in New York.
UTA: Actress and pop star Willow Smith has shifted from Paradigm to UTA for representation in music, touring, film, TV, digital, licensing and endorsements, among others in a competitive situation. Her 2010 single “Whip My Hair” was the best-selling debut single from a new artist that year. On the film side her credits include Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, a voice role in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and I Am Legend opposite her father Will Smith.
