Bastei LLC: Imperative Entertainment and German media and publishing company Bastei Lübbe AG have launched a new joint venture, Bastei LLC. The new company will combine the publishing and new media prowess from Bastei Lübbe AG with the entertainment expertise from Imperative Entertainment to develop content for film, television and video games.
Fire Engine 13: Producer Robert Curran has launched a new television production shingle, Fire Engine 13. The company will focus on developing and producing character-driven scripted and unscripted programming in addition to consulting for other production houses.
Indigenous Media: Jon Avnet, Jake Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia have launched a new digital production company, Indigenous Media. Indigenous Media will produce original and branded content for digital and emerging platforms worldwide. Jon Miller has joined as a non-executive Chairman.
Kapital International: Sharon Horgan's Merman Films in the UK and Aaron Kaplan's Los Angeles based Kapital Entertainment have launched a new venture, Kapital International. The television production shingle will develop American programming for the UK market.
Los Angeles Media Fund: Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman have launched a new film production and financing shingle, Los Angeles Media Fund. The venture seeks to invest in films in the mid-budget range. Patrick Murray has joined as the Head of Finance and Nicolas Charles is joining as Head of Productions & Development.
Mare Nostrum: Spanish production company Morena Films and producer Alexandra Lebret have launched a new productions shingle, Mare Nostrum. Mare Nostrum seeks to produce three to four European films, one local French film and one larger international film each year.
