SSN Insight: The movie is said to start shooting at the end of 2015 and will be the next major role for Pike after her rave performance in Gone Girl.

Untitled Edward Snowden Drama Logline: The story of Edward Snowden who made thousands of classified documents public while working at the US National Security Agency. Studio/Distributor: Open Road Films, Endgame Entertainment Production Company: Ixtlan Inc., Onda Entertainment Producers: Oliver Stone, Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff Cast: Shailene Woodley, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Writer:  Oliver Stone Director: Oliver Stone Notes: Based on the books "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man" written by Luke Harding and published by Vintage on February 7, 2014 and "Time of the Octopus" written by Snowden's Russian attorney Anatoly Kucherena and to be published soon. SSN Insight: Woodley signs on to play the role of Snowden’s (Gordon-Levitt) girlfriend.  The film is in pre-production in Germany and set to start production in January.

Captain America: Civil War Logline: Tony Stark and Steve Rogers go head to head in battle over the Superhero Registration Act, which governs that those with superhuman abilities must reveal themselves as such to the United States government and pledge to enforce law in conjunction with government agencies. Studio/Distributor: Walt Disney Production Company: Marvel Entertainment Producers: Kevin Feige, Nate Moore Cast: Daniel Bruhl, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Sebastian Stan, Chadwick A. Boseman Writer: Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely Director: Joe Russo, Anthony Russo Notes: Sequel to Captain America: The Winter Soldier (USA/2014) directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo and starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Hayley Atwell. SSN Insight: Bruhl is the latest actor cast in the Captain America sequel set for release May 6, 2016.  He is said to be playing one of the villains who may return for later films such as Doctor Strange.

Money Monster Logline: After a man loses all his money in the stock market by following the advice of a Wall Street TV host, he takes the money adviser hostage on live television. Studio/ Distributor: Tristar Pictures Production Company: The Allegiance Theatre, Smokehouse Pictures Producers: Daniel Dubiecki, Lara Alameddine, George Clooney, Grant Heslov Cast: Julia Roberts, Jack O’Connell, George Clooney Writer: Jamie Linden Director: Jodie Foster SSN Insight: One of Tom Rothman’s first films to start production since the ex-Fox Studios chief made a deal on the Sony Lot to resurrect the Tri-Star label.  Roberts is said to be playing Clooney’s love interest and O’Connellsaid to be playing Kyle Budwell, a blue-collar man fed up with Wall Street who takes his money adviser hostage.

Bond 24 Logline: Storyline under wraps. Studio/ Distributor: MGM/ Columbia Pictures Production Company: Eon Productions, Danjaq, LLC Producers: Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson Cast: Christoph Waltz, Daniel Craig, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista Writer: Neal Purvis, Robert Wade Director: Sam Mendes SSN Insight: Waltz is the latest cast member said to be joining the new installment of the Bond series as a villain.  After Sam Mendes bowed out as director due to prior stage commitments, the producers decided to wait for him and the film is set to start production in early December.

Boston Strong Logline: The reaction of the city of Boston to the fatal attacks at the Boston Marathon and the hunt for the brothers suspected of the bombings is dramatized. Studio/ Distributor: 20th Century Fox Production Company: Hutch Parker Entertainment, Dorothy Aufiero Producer: Hutch Parker Writer: Eric Johnson & Paul Tamasy Director: Daniel Espinosa Notes: Based on the book "Boston Strong" written by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge and to be published by University Press of New England in 2014. SSN Insight: Casey Affleck was previously attached to produce and star, alongside his producing partner John Ridley.

Can’t Touch This Logline: High school dance movie set in the 1990’s Studio/Distributor: Focus Features Production Company:  Chu Studios Producers:  Jon M. Chu, Hieu Ho Writer:  Annie Mebane, Steve Basilone SSN Insight: Jon Chu stays in his wheelhouse with this 90’s dance movie after climbing to success after directing the Step Up Movies.  Chu sold the pitch to Focus with Mebane and Basilone, writers on Community and Happy Endings, attached to write.

Enter Helen Logline: Trailblazer Helen Gurley Brown was one of the first women to become an editor of a national magazine when she took control of Cosmopolitan in 1965. Studio/ Distributor: Fox 2000 Production Company: Chernin Entertainment Producers: Peter Chernin Notes: Based on the book "Enter Helen: The Rise And Reign of the Original Cosmo Girl" written by Brooke Hauser and to be published by HarperCollins 2015. SSN Insight: This project should be a fun one to cast as characters in the book include Hugh Hefner, Nora Ephron and Gloria Steinem.  It is set against the backdrop of the Sexual Revolution and the Women’s Movement.

The Hunt for El Chapo Logline: The true story of the capture of notorious Sinaloa drug cartel leader Joaquin Guzman is recounted. Studio/Distributor: Universal Pictures Production Company: Film 44 Producers:  Peter Berg Writer:  Craig Borten Director: Peter Berg Notes: Based on the article "The Hunt for El Chapo" written by Patrick Radden Keefe and published in The New Yorker on May 5, 2014. SSN Insight: Craig Borten, one of the writers on Dallas Buyers Club with writing partner Melissa Wallack, tackles this new project on his own.

Jackpot Logline: Six people who all work together in Detroit enter into a parlay and win $500K but soon start double crossing each other Studio/Distributor: Focus Features Production Company: Olive Bridge Entertainment Producers:  Will Gluck Writer:  David Callaham Director: Patty Jenkins Notes: Remake of Jackpot (Norway/2011) directed by Magnus Martens and based on the book "Arme riddere" written by Jo Nesbo. SSN Insight: Jo Nesbo is a best-selling crime author who also wrote the book Headhunters which was adapted into a movie and directed by Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum.

Just One Day/ Just One Year Logline: A young couple who meet and share a wonderful day and night together, are then separated, and spend the next year looking for each other. Studio/Distributor: Universal Pictures Production Company: Fake Empire Producers:  Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage Notes: Based on two YA novels written by Gayle Forman: "Just One Day" published by Dutton Books on August 20, 2013 and "Just One Year" also published by Dutton Books in September 2014. SSN Insight: The novelist, Gayle Forman is best known for her YA novel If I Stay, which was adapted by New Line into a drama starring Chloe Grace Moretz. The novel is currently at No. 1 on the New York Times young adult best-seller list.
