British actress Jones scored her first Oscar nod yesterday for her role as physicist Stephen Hawking’s first wife, in a film based on Jane’s memoir. The film has been nominated five times, including her co-star Eddie Redmayne for Best Actor, and the film for Best Picture.

20th Century Women, follows three different women teaching a boy about life, love, freedom and finding your sanity in the raucous Southern California heyday of Santa Barbara 1979 during Jimmy Carter's last summer in office. But when the boy's mother takes in a male boarder, his worldview is shaken in unexpected ways. It will shoot this year.

Studio has picked up rights to
The Reckoners, a young adult fantasy fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson. Deal was made for Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps to produce, with Daria Cercek overseeing for Fox and Will Rack for 21 Laps. Series follows a shadowy group of ordinary humans who spend their lives studying super-powered rulers known as Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

The network is adapting author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Betty DeRamus’ acclaimed book
Forbidden Fruit: Love Stories From the Underground Railroad, into
Freedom Run. It will focus on three specific journeys and love stories, each based on actual people. Wonder will serve as an executive producer of the series, while B. Swibel, Adam Westbrook and Charles Randolph-Wright will write the miniseries and serve as executive producers.

Colin Hanks, Alex Pettyfer and Johnny Knoxville join Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey, who play the respective leads the flick, which tells of the infamous Dec. 21, 1970, meeting between Presley and Nixon, both men at the height of their power in their respective fields. It has begun shooting in Atlanta.

Fandango has announced that the film is the fastest-selling R-rated movie in the company’s 15-year history. Considering that the movie doesn’t come out for another four weeks, that makes it even more impressive, considering that the ticket sales will increase exponentially the closer we get to the actual release date.

CSI: New York will take on the lead of the network’s
Criminal Minds offshoot, which is being developed in house by The Eye. The potential series will center on a top FBI division that helps American citizens in trouble abroad. Sinise will play Jack Garrett, a 20-year veteran of the bureau who oversees the FBI’s team for handling cases involving Americans overseas.
