HBO will first broadcast
Night Will Fall on Monday night, which Hitchcock filmed at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945. The footage was said to be so horrific that the British government shelved it, but the project has been rescued by producer Brett Ratner and director André Singer. Doc will combine old footage with new for a behind-the-scenes look at the unfinished film.

Online store is set to premiere its service in the US later this year. Similar to Amazon’s effort, the company will tie the service into its loyalty program, currently priced at $20 a year. Initially, the plan is to offer video on demand, with a streaming service targeted for the end of the year.

The network will have exclusive rights to show the first four movies made by the new studio from Robert Simonds, starting in 2015 and lasting through at least 2019. Meanwhile, STX also announced that
The Free State Of Jones, starring Matthew McConaughey, will be its first film venture.

Powers, starring Shallot Copley and Susan Heyward, is based on a comic book by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. After years in development, initially starting at the FX network, the project ended up at Sony, which will premiere the initial three episodes of the network’s first live action series on Tuesday, March 10th. The first season runs 10 episodes.

X-Men: First Class co-writer, and frequent Matthew Vaughn collaborator, Jane Goldman has been brought on board to write the latest version of the film project, based on the popular and long-running DC/Vertigo comic book by Bill Willingham.
A Royal Affair helmer Nikolaj Arcel is currently attached to direct.

AMC has released the first look at the second half of the hit show’s fifth season. The most-viewed show on cable will return to the network on February 8th.

Documentary filmmaker Angela Ismailos’s 2009 documentary is now available for free online viewing. The movie features some revered and influential names, including Bernardo Bertolucci, David Lynch, Liliana Cavani, Stephen Frears, Agnes Varda,Todd Haynes, Catherine Breillat, Richard Linklater and John Sayles, each expounding on their influences and artistic processes.
