COSTUME DESIGN
Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film earned two Oscar nods, one for his script and the other for prolific costume designer Bridges, who previously won an Oscar, BAFTA, and Critic’s Choice Award for his work on
The Artist. Bridges has designed costumes for all of Anderson’s films, so the nod for
Vice means a lot to him.

It was a buyer’s market at this year’s festival, as a number of films found homes, and scored big deals, during the fest. Executives from A24, Magnolia, Fox Searchlight, and Sony Pictures Classics stayed busy in Park City, acquiring such titles as

The
Selma director is reuniting with Winfrey for a new drama series for OWN, on which Winfrey is scheduled to have a recurring role. The director’s first foray into telelvision will be on
Queen Sugar, a series based on the novel by Natalie Baszile. DuVernay is writing, directing, and executive producing the show, which marks Winfrey's acting debut on her eponymous network.

Company CEO Reed Hastings and CFO David Wells told investors they were planning to raise at least a billion dollars of debt, given the company’s step-up in content investment as well as the “current favorable interest-rate environment.” With the announcement, Standard & Poor’s downgraded its credit rating on the company from “BB-minus” to “B-plus,” meaning the company’s debt carries more risk.

Carrie-Anne Moss is on board the Netflix series, coming from Marvel Studios. One of the four series moving forward, beginning with April’s
Daredevil,
Jones stars Krysten Ritter as the title former hero and current private investigator. Moss will play a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica — if Jessica doesn't completely alienate her first.

Gillian Vigman, Alexie Gilmore and Jessica Meraz have been cast as the female leads opposite Paul Soter, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme and Erik Stolhanske in the comedy pilot
. Written, executive produced by and starring Soter, Heffernan, Lemme and Stolhanske, the semi-autobiographical
show is about four college buddies who kept their sophomoric ways in suspended animation throughout their 20s and are now succumbing to reproduction.

The star of the
Resident Evil franchise and Justin Chatwin will lead
In The Lost Lands, a feature based on three of his short stories. Constantin Werner wrote and directed the film, which will shoot later this year.

Captain America and Star Lord had wagered on their respective teams — Evans is a Patriots fan, Pratt roots for the Seahawks — with the loser visiting sick children at the hospital of the winner’s choice. Even though Evans won the bet, both men will be visiting the other’s hospital in costume, bringing joy to children in both Boston and Seattle.
