Story is about a 32-year-old woman in a small, blue collar Pennsylvania town whose teen daughter goes missing and she is left to raise her infant grandson alone. The story is told over the course of 11 years, leading up the long-awaited discovery of the truth. It’s a drama with thriller elements. Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer and Michael Pruss are producing.

Fresh of the news that Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return to direct the next installment of the trilogy, comes word that James wants to write the screenplay for the sequel. James already wielded lots of power over the production of the first flick, scoring casting approval and working closely with filmmakers to give input, leading to big fights with Taylor-Johnson. Universal is reportedly resistant to this, and production on the second film has stalled as a result.
