The Lazarus Effect opening today, the film arrives bearing the stamp of Blumhouse Pictures, stars indie-darling Mark Duplass, actress and political activist Olivia Wilde and comedian/rapper Donald Glover. The most unconventional name involved in the film, however, is first time-scripted director David Gelb, who previously directed the award winning documentary
Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

Star Trek III: Search For Spock and
Three Men and a Baby, and who was one of the most beloved actors of his generation, was 83. His wife confirmed that the cause of death was chronic pulmonary disease. Nimoy himself had attributed his ill-health to a long-ceased smoking habit.

Former Superman (in the ABC series
Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and the star of the 1984 theatrical feature film
Supergirl join the show in top secret roles. Show centers on Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). Since arriving on Earth, the Krypton-born Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her abilities and be the hero she always was meant to be.

Meagan Good and Stark Sands have landed the key roles in the series, with Sands actually playing twin clairvoyants alongside Laura Regan. Good will play a detective who gets involved with the precogs. Show, which picks up 10 years after the events of the 2002 Tom Cruise film, is being directed by Mark Mylod from a pilot script by Max Borenstein.

Writer best known for writing the novel
War of the Roses, which became a movie starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito (who also directed), will have this book developed by actor/producer Julian McMahon and writer Charlie Loventhal, in conjunction with Grey Eagle Films/Grey Eagle Development.

Boardwalk Empire star is in early talks with Relativity to star as the comic book protagonist. In James O'Barr's beloved graphic novel, Draven returns from the dead to get revenge on the guys who murdered him and his beloved fiancé Shelly on Devil's Night. The two were to be married the next day - on Halloween, of course. The role was made famous by Brandon Lee, who was accidentally killed during filming.
