While original projections had 2020 as the year when the Chinese Box Office would become the biggest in the world, it appears that last month we got our first view of what that would look like. In total, the U.S. box office grossed $640 million while the Chinese box office took in $650 million.

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, the directing pair behind
Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the upcoming
Captain America: Civil War, has signed a three-year, first-look features deal with the studio. The brothers will develop product to present to both Columbia and TriStar monikers.

The Jay Baruchel-starrer, which takes a sweet and absurd look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating, marks the first original comedy series developed for FXX. Baruchel plays Josh Greenberg, a naive romantic desperately looking to find love, in the half-hour series from FX Productions and creator Simon Rich. It is currently in the midst of its debut 10-episode season.

Sony’s video game adaptation, which has been in development for years, could on a video gamer-turned-racer. Of course, the focus of the film’s story is now being kept under wraps, but it’s expected that Kosinski will draft an entirely new script.

Angel From Hell. In the project, brassy and flamboyant Amy (Lynch) enters a young woman named Allison’s life, claiming to be her guardian angel. They form an unlikely friendship, though Allison can’t be sure if Amy is indeed an angel or just nuts.

The first pictures have emerged of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Edward Snowden in the Oliver Stone film. The movie has begun production, and features a star-studded cast that also includes Shailene Woodley, Nicolas Cage, Zachary Quinto, Melissa Leo, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Timothy Olyphant and Joely Richardson. It is due in theaters Christmas Day.
