New Line’s sequel of sorts to the original film, written by John Hughes, directed by Harold Ramis and starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, the new version will hit theaters July 31st, as counter programming to Paramount’s
Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, Ed Helms, Christina Applegate and Charlie Day, with Chase and D’Angelo making cameos. The film was originally scheduled for October 9th.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is based on the 2009 Seth Grahame-Smith novel which mixes the zombie genre with the famed Jane Austen title. Story follows a zombie apocalypse that has been raging for 70 years, however, the Bennet sisters have just about had enough. Burr Steers is directing from the screenplay he wrote with David O. Russell.

Production of the Disney franchise was halted in Australia for two weeks. The film’s star departed Australia for the U.S. on March 10 following an injury that happened in Queensland, though not while shooting. Filming has continued on scenes not involving Depp. But, on Thursday, some 200 crew were told that they would not be working for the next two weeks. Production is scheduled to pick up on April 15.

Ciara Renée primarily known for her stage work, has been cast in the proposed series, playing Kendra Saunders, aka Hawkgirl, which is a lead role. Meanwhile, Arthur Darvill of
Doctor Who fame has been cast as the time traveling scientist, Rip Hunter. The spinoff project featuring characters from both shows will also star Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Wentworth Miller and Victor Garber.

Speaking at a Batman panel at the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend, stars of the 1960s
Batman TV show Adam West and Burt Ward announced that they are lending their voices to reprise the roles of Batman and Robin, respectively for an animated film. Ward told the audience that the movie would be 90 minutes, and it would possibly be one of two animated project they’re working on.

Executives at New York-based Time Warner are still debating whether HBO Now should include shows from a channel lineup that includes TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. Turner won't be part of the debut of HBO Now, as Time Warner's premium pay-TV channel plans to debut the Web-only service on Apple products in time for the April 12 season premiere of its hit
