Monster director Patty Jenkins has come aboard to helm the film for Warner Bros. This is a development made all the more interesting since Jenkins herself departed
Thor: The Dark World because of those aforementioned creative differences before that Marvel project could begin shooting.

SMOSH: The Movie, the latest low-budget film stuffed with YouTube stars and set for a multi-platform distribution blitz, will premiere July 23 in Anaheim, alongside the massive fan convention. The film is co-produced and financed by Defy Media and Awesomeness TV, which is owned by DreamWorks Animation and Hearst. Film is described, appropriately enough, as a high-concept
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Confirmation, HBO Films’ upcoming picture about the 1991 Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill scandal. Kerry Washington is already set to play Hill. Susannah Grant wrote the
Confirmation script and will executive produce with Washington, Michael London, and Janice Williams. The role of Thomas has yet to be cast.

StarTalk, is premiering on Monday night, the 20th, and the cable net has already announced a second season for the talk-show, obviously implying great confidence that it will be a ratings hit. Based on Dr. Tyson’s prominent podcast of the same name, the weekly series will infuse pop culture with science, while bringing together comedians and celebrities to delve into a wide range of topics.
