A project that was previously set up at Showtime, John Singleton's drama titled
Snowfall, described succinctly, if reductively, as "
Boyz n the Hood meets
The Wire," has earned a pilot order from the network. The drama will explore what has come to be known as the "American crack epidemic" — the surge of crack cocaine use across the USA (specifically Los Angeles, in this case) during the mid to late 1980s.

Hunt is joining Dakota Fanning in the film
Please Stand By for director Ben Lewin. Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine of Los Angeles-based The Allegiance Theater are producing. Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban’s 2929 Productions are financing. Fanning stars as a brilliant young woman with autism, who escapes her care home with the goal of delivering her script to a Hollywood competition. She’s pursued by her no-nonsense carer, played by Hunt.

Billy Crudup is joining the cast of
Youth In Oregon, a dark comedy from actor-turned-director Joel David Moore. Stefan Nowicki, Morgan White and Joey Carey of Sundial Pictures
are producing. The script by Andrew Eisen tells of a husband (Crudup) on a cross-country trip to Oregon with his cantankerous father-in-law (Langella), a man who has given up on life. He must convince his father-in-law not to commit euthanasia when they arrive to the state.

The network is considering different options to give
CSI a final chapter next season, including a short run — as short as six episodes — but it is not a sure thing. It is still entirely possible that the show could be canceled outright, as
Law & Order was in 2010.

The world of VR is not governed by the same rules as film. With a well-done VR piece, you sometimes must convince your brain you’re not actually experiencing the things you’re seeing. This is true even when you’re fighting alongside a giant green man, a performance-enhanced patriot, and a dimension-hopping god.

As production continues on the sequel, producer Michael Bay has released the first official look at
Arrow star Stephen Amell as the sports-themed vigilante Casey Jones. The film will hit theaters June 3rd, 2016.
