A new lawsuit from the American Federation of Musicians counts dozens of examples, from

Argo, where music wasn't totally original. Sony's Columbia Pictures, Viacom's Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal City Studios, Walt Disney Pictures and Warner Bros. Entertainments are all defendants in a lawsuit that offers some surprises about how old film music has been recycled in recent years.

Oscar-winner Swinton has joined the cast and will play a Tibetan mystic who helps the Doctor learn the skills of being a sorcerer. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular sorcerer, while Scott Derrickson is directing the film. Shooting begins this fall and will hit theaters November 4th, 2016.

After a lackluster 2003 version, the studio is taking another shot on Alan Moore’s comic series, which follows follows the literary icons Alan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, invisible man Rodney Skinner, Secret Service agent Sawyer, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde and the group’s recruiter, M, who use their powers and skills to save the world from destruction by the evil madman Fantom. John Davis is producing.

The show will get a second season in 2016, series co-creator and exec producer Marta Kauffman announced at an FYC panel at the Pacific Design Center last night. She also suggested that part of the reason Netflix renewed it so quickly might have had something to do with Miley Cyrus tweeting about the show two weeks after its premiere.

A24 has released the first trailer for the film, based on a true story. The film follows Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) and author David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel) on the closing days of the book tour of
Infinite Jest, the novel that made Wallace a literary sensation. It opens July 31st.
