Sony has announced that
The Equalizer 2 will hit theaters on September 29th, 2017, almost exactly three years after the first film was released. The plan is to turn the movies into a franchise, with this being the first of what could be a series. No word yet on whether or not Antoine Fuqua, who directed the first film, will return.

Following the excitement generated by an impressive trailer (included in this link), Fox has rejiggered its release schedule to bring Ridley Scott's
The Martian to cinemas two months earlier than previously anticipated. It'll now be out in the States on October 2nd, switching places with
Victor Frankenstein, which has been shunted back to November 25th.

Oscar-nominated actor will play Baron Mordo, an enemy of Doctor Strange who first appeared in the comic
Strange Tales in 1963. Scott Derrickson is directing the film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which follows the story of the brilliant and arrogant neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. It comes out November 4th.

The actor’s Material Pictures shingle will produce a film adaptation of Eliza Kennedy’s novel, with
Whiplash producer Helen Estabrook and Material partner Matthew Plouffe. Kennedy will adapt the screenplay for film, which centers on Lily Wilder, a New York lawyer about to get married but unable to settle down. She's self-assured, fun, brilliant, and has the perfect fiancé -- but does she love him? And can she stop sleeping with other men?

StudioCanal and Working Title have revealed the first trailer, poster and new stills for Stephen Frears’ formerly-untitled Lance Armstrong biopic, starring Ben Foster as the controversial cyclist. There is not yet a U.S. release date for the project.

Lifetime Network has released the first trailer for the Will Ferrell-Kristen Wiig made-for-TV movie, which also stars Jessica Lowndes. Film centers on a couple, played by Ferrell and Wiig, who take care of a pregnant 20-something (Lowndes) whose baby they plan to adopt. But, as par for the course for these types of films, everything isn’t as it seems. It premieres next Saturday, the 20th.

Disney Animation has released the first teaser trailer for its next film, one which imagines a world if it was mammal metropolis, specifically focusing on the relationship of a fox and a rabbit. Jason Bateman and Gennifer Goodwin star in the film, which hits theaters March 4th, 2016.
