With
Minions opening impressively abroad, the studio shattered the record set by 20th Century Fox in October of 2014. This also marks the first time in Universal’s 103-year history that the studio has reached that mark in any calendar year. The incredible run is thanks to the performance of films like
Jurassic World,
Furious 7,
50 Shades Of Gray,
Pitch Perfect 2 and the upcoming
Minions, which opens here this weekend.
