Now comes word that a new option will charge between $12 and $14 per month, but an opportunity to slip the ads. While that price point would be more expensive than most SVOD options in the U.S. marketplace, the logic behind the move is that would avoid siphoning away the 9 million subscribers already paying for the current version.

X-Men: Apocalypse is a pivotal film in the franchise not only due to its epic plot and villain but for the fact that it might be Jennifer Lawrence’s last appearance as Mystique. The actress has previously stated that she thought Apocalypse would be her final stint as the shapeshifter, but now she may have reversed course, saying at Comic-Con, “I don’t want to not be asked” to return to play the role again.

Company has tapped prolific producer Peter Traugott as head of domestic scripted operations. Traugott — who with producing partner Rachel Kaplan, both formerly of TBD Entertainment — will oversee development, production, packaging, promotion and sales of Keshet International's scripted fare in the U.S. Traugott will serve as president of scripted, while Kaplan will be executive vp. Both will report to Keshet International CEO Alon Shtruzman.

Richard Armitage and Carrie-Anne Moss have joined the cast of the film, adapted from Susannah Cahalan’s memoir, which was subtitled My Month Of Madness. The book chronicles her real-life experiences being diagnosed with a mystery illness that left her labelled psychotic, violent, and a dangerous flight risk. She woke up alone in a hospital room confined to the bed, unable to speak or move and with no memory of what happened.
