Studio has put in a straight-to-series order for the one-hour comic-thriller
BrainDead, from the creators of
The Good Wife. The series will center on a young staffer whose first day on the job in Washington D.C. alerts her to the fact that the government is no longer performing at full capacity and that many of the Congressmen and other faculty members have had their brains eaten by aliens. Show will mix up the worlds of comedy, sci-fi and suspense.

The former ESPN columnist and editor of the Grantland website left the Disney company earlier this year after a contract dispute. At the pay cable net, Simmons will have a weekly talk show centered not only on sports but on all parts of the cultural landscape; the show will debut in 2016. On top of this, Simmons will serve as a consultant and producer on a myriad of projects for HBO Sports, including documentaries and other programs.

The Catch is described as a thriller about Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a fraud investigator who is poised to be the victim of a fraud by her fiancé. Between cases, she's determined to find him before it ruins her career.

The former president of programming at MTV, who announced her departure yesterday, will be joining YouTube as vice president originals. She will report directly to YouTube head of content Robert Kyncl and will oversee the originals team run by Alex Carloss. In her new role, Daniels, who spent three years at MTV after stints at Lifetime and WB, will manage YouTube's small but growing pipeline of original projects, overseeing development and production.

Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood (aka the Lone Gunmen) are set to appear in at least one episode of the revival, despite the fact that their characters were — spoiler alert! — killed off in the show’s ninth season. The news was broken on Twitter by Haglund, himself. The popular trio was given a short-lived, self-titled spinoff in 2001; it was cancelled after 13 episodes.
