Welcome to August, the month where the summer movie season comes to a close with a few films still seeking to squeeze out a sizable box office during the last days of school vacation. This month, Fox will release Fantastic Four and Warner Bros. will unleash The Man from U.N.C.L.E. But amidst the blockbusters still in theaters, indie hits might sneak in and enthrall audiences including Meryl Streep’s turn in Ricki and the Flash and Chris Pine in Z for Zachariah.
The San Diego Comic-Con has already come and gone, but Disney wasn’t among the studios who presented. The studio held off in favor of their own event, D23, held once every two years. You can expect Marvel films to be on full display along with any number of Pixar and animated films. The last convention featured one of the first performances of "Let it Go" by Idina Menzel herself, so there are sure to be some cool surprises this year.
