‘Everest’ Helmer Teaming With Scott Free For an ‘Eve Online’ TV Series
Baltasar Kormakur has gotten together with Ridley Scott’s productions shingle on the adaptation of the hit sci-fi subscriber online game. Set in a galaxy of 7,800 star systems more than 21,000 years in the future, Eve is a massive multi-player role-playing game in which space-ship participants engage in professions and combat each other for gain. Kormakur’s RVK and Scott Free are currently in talks with potential financiers with the aim of creating a series pilot. (VAR)

New series from writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Greg Berlanti is set to be written by Aguirre-Sacasa. Written by Deborah Schoeneman, the untitled project, which has a script commitment, is a fictional drama loosely based on the life of the famed feminist lawyer. Closing ‘The Circle’, Tom Hanks Drama Casts Its Final Lead
Karen Gillan joins Hanks, Emma Watson and John Boyega in the film, adapted from the novel by Dave Eggers. James Ponsoldt is directing the film, which tells the story of a young woman who gets what she thinks is her dream job at a Google-like internet company, only to see it turn into a nightmare. Watson plays said young woman, while Boyega plays a boy wonder visionary, Hanks a mysterious older man, and Gillan another member of The Circle. (SF)
