APA: Actress Mena Suvari has shifted from ICM Partners to APA for representation. Recently, she starred in WeTV’s series South of Hell, directed by Eli Roth and produced by Jason Blum. She also was seen as a recurring actor on Chicago Fire and American Horror Story. She is best known for her roles in American Beauty and the American Pie franchise.
ICM Partners: Actress Lex Scott Davis has signed with the agency. She recently played Toni Braxton in the Lifetime TV movie, Unbreak My Heart. The film earned 3.6 million viewers in January. Davis was previously seen on the TV Land series, The Exes.
Verve: Writer Heather Hach has shifted from WME to Verve. Her film credits include Freaky Friday and What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Currently she’s attached to the films Daddy’s Girls, Freaky Monday and French Women Don’t Get Fat, all in development.
UTA: Filmmaker Shaka King has moved to UTA following his agent, Mike Esola’s move to the agency. His feature debut, Newlyweeds, premiered at Sundance in 2013 and earned him the Spirit Awards’ Someone to Watch grant. In 2015 he released his short Mulignans at Sundance. He is currently developing hip-hop comedy These Are My Friends at HBO with Russell Simmons’ All Def Digital.
Primary Wave Entertainment: Comedian Elizabeth Guest has signed with Primary Wave Entertainment under manager Tatiana Sarah. She is a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv comic troop and recently created and starred in the web series Guest Appearances and regularly performs with her all-female comedy team Fresh Hell.
WME: YouTube celebrity Amanda Steele has signed with WME and IMG Models for representation and will work with her to expand her brand through fashion, film, television, digital and endorsements. Her makeup and beauty channel, MakeupbyMandy24 has 2.8 million subscribers. She also appeared in the 30-episode short-form series “Guidance” for Verizon’s Go90 mobile platform, which scored 1.2 million views for its first episode.
Paradigm: Actor Markees Christmas has signed with agency. The 16-year-old starred in this year’s Sundance Film Festival award winner Morris From America, which A24 will distribute. The film picked up two awards after it premiered at Sundance: a Special Jury Award for Robinson and the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award for writer-director Chad Hartigan.
