Details: Inspired by the book, Savage Kingdom: The True Story of Jamestown, 1607, and the Settlement of America, written by Benjamin Woolley.   Untitled Jenji Kohan Project Network: HBO Studio: Lionsgate TV Executive Producers: Jenji Kohan, Bruce Miller Supervising Producer: Tracy Miller Writer: Jenji Kohan, Bruce Miller, Tracy Miller Logline: Explores the circumstances surrounding a time when intolerance and repression set neighbor against neighbor and led the town of Salem to mass hysteria. SSN Insight: This marks the first sale for Kohan this season, who created and Executive Produces Netflix’s series Orange Is The New Black.   Shannara Network: MTV Production Company: Sonar Entertainment Executive Producers: Terry Brooks, Jon Favreau, Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, Dan Farah Writer: Alfred Gough, Miles Millar Director: Jon Favreau Logline: Set in our world thousands of years after the destruction of our civilization, the story is centered on the Shannara family, whose descendants are empowered with ancient magic and whose adventures continuously reshape the future of the world. Details: Based on the fantasy book series, Shannara, written by Terry Brooks. Planned as a script-to-series order. SSN Insight: Project was originally being developed as a feature for Warner Brothers back in 2007.   Lowdown Network: E! Production Company: Universal Cable Productions, High Wire Films Executive Producer: Adam Zwar, Amanda Brotchie, David Bartis, Doug Liman, Nicole Minchin Co-Executive Producer: Gene Klein Writer: Adam Zwar, Amanda Brotchie Logline: Revolves around Alex, a celebrity journalist, and his dysfunctional relationships with his ex-girlfriend, editor and celebrity subjects. He will do whatever it takes to get a great story out of them -- from exposing illicit text messages to outing gay athletes. Details: Based on the Australian comedy series Lowdown. SSN Insight: Zwar is behind the Australian adaptation of FX’s Wilfred. This marks the third scripted series in development at E!, which includes Songbyrd and The Royals.   The Dovekeepers Network: CBS Studio: CBS Television Studios Production Company: Lightworkers Media Executive Producers: Mark Burnett, Roma Downey Logline: Centers on four extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada. Details: Based on the novel The Dovekeepers, written by Alice Hoffman. Planned as a four hour miniseries.
