In a new stage version of Stephen King’s novel, for which Kathy Bates won an Oscar in 1991, the
Die Hard star will take over the James Caan role of Paul Sheldon. William Goldman, who adapted the book into the movie directed by Rob Reiner, also adapted the stage version. No venue or date is yet set, but the plan is to mount it in the fall, with Elizabeth Marvel playing Annie and Will Frears directing.

The service is expected to be available across a variety of platforms, including Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, and connected devices from companies like Amazon. A judge has ruled that a rewrite of a lawsuit against 21st Century Fox over the sitcom
New Girl should survive a motion to dismiss. The complaint comes from Stephanie Counts and Shari Gold, who allege it derives from their proposals for a television show or movie that would have been titled
Square One. They are suing Fox, William Morris Endeavor, showrunner Liz Meriwether and executive producer Peter Chernin.

Focus Features has set a November 27th platform release date for the film, the Tom Hooper movie that stars Oscar Best Actor winner Eddie Redmayne along with Matthias Schoenaerts, Alicia Vikander and Amber Heard. The pic, inspired by the novel written by David Ebershoff, is a love story about Danish painters Einar Wegener (Redmayne) and his wife Gerda. In 1930, Wegener was one of the first men ever to undergo operations to become a woman.

Luke Evans will play villainous Gaston in the Bill Condon-directed film, which begins production later this year, and Dan Stevens will be the titular Beast. The script was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and rewritten by Steve Chbosky. In the original tale, Gaston was the handsome antagonist who tried to win Belle’s heart and after losing it to the beast, led a group of townspeople on a hunt to kill the creature. And you know who the beast is.

Star Wars star joins a sizeable list of new actors heading to the show for the upcoming season. He will guest star as a patient of Gillian Anderson’s Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, becoming a part of the show along with other new cast members Richard Armitage, Nina Arianda, Glenn Fleshler, Fortunato Cerlino, and Tao Okamoto, as well as Joe Anderson, who replaces Michael Pitt as Mason Verger.

The new sci-fi film from Tarsem Singh stars Ben Kingsley and Ryan Reynolds, in which the former plays a dying man who transfers his consciousness into the latter’s body. However, Kingsley’s mind begins to realize the truth about where Reynolds body came from and the sci-fi action and suspense begins. Movie is scheduled for July 31st.
