Winning a screenwriting competition is not an automatic ticket to success, but your work is more likely to be read by potential managers, agents and producers.

Schwartz, who had pled not guilty, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespass. She was sentenced to 10 years' probation and a $5,000 fine. Under the terms of her probation, she cannot serve as a director, producer, first A.D. or any department head responsible for crew safety on any film or TV production.

Alice In Wonderland for the studio in 2010, the director is now taking the reins of the in-development
Dumbo, which is set to be a mixture of live actors and computer-generated effects. The 1941 animated classic centered on a young circus elephant who's ridiculed for his large ears, which give him the ability to fly.

Me and Earl will also debut on the same day as
Jurassic World. Searchlight had previously slated the film to bow on July 1st, the same day as

Just after Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made news for walking the runway at Paris Fashion Week comes news that the movie, starring both actors, as well as Will Ferrell, Penelope Cruz and Christine Taylor and directed by Stiller, hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.

The British crime series stars Jamie Dornan as a serial killer who is pursued by a Detective Superintendent (Gillian Anderson) whom he also stalks. Allan Cubitt, the series’ creator/writer/director, spoke at the Netflix TCA panel in January about his confidence regarding a third season. And so it has come to pass.

Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti will be going head-to-head on the tennis court, as the pair has signed on for HBO Films’ untitled project about the 1973 match between King and Riggs. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will produce through Playtone, along with Banks and her Brownstone Productions partner (and husband) Max Handelman. David Auburn (
Proof) will write the script.

Cable network has ordered eight episodes of a new series called
Why? set to premiere in July. The weekly half-hour show will "follow the comedian as he addresses major cultural issues through stand-up, filmed segments, man-on-the-street interviews and interviews with in-studio guests."

The latest look at the upcoming Netflix original series, produced in conjunction with Marvel Studios. This version finally gives viewers a peak at Vincent D’Onofrio’s villainous Kingpin. Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn and Deborah Ann Woll also star in the show, which premieres April 10th.
