TODAY’S HEADLINES
The show will return to the Fox network more than 13 years after the series ended its cult run. Original series creator Chris Carter will shepherd the special six-episode "event series" to air with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their respective roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully.

Network President David Nevins announced the 12-episode order of the show, starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis and set in New York's financial world. The hour-long series will join
The Affair and
Homeland on the premium cable network, making for a formidable — and awards-friendly — lineup come 2016.

The deal, which is for films that will be produced by Lakeshore, is in addition to Lakeshore's credit facility with JPMorgan Chase bank. The Vine transaction, concluded by Lakeshore COO Eric Reid and CFO Marc Reid, comes as Lakeshore looks to grow its slate. Vine has been an investor in Lakeshore’s corporate capital structure for several years.

Jeffrey Blitz directs the film, about a group of strangers who are marooned at the misfits table at a destination wedding, which also stars Craig Robinson, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant, Tony Revolori, June Squibb, Wyatt Russell and Amanda Crew. Pic begins shooting next week.
Rocket Science was one of the early art house success for Kendrick before her profile was catapulted by the
Twilight films and her Oscar-nominated supporting turn in 2009’s

Show follows Kevin, a young man who professes his love to a co-worker Audrey in a letter, before accepting another job overseas, thinking he’ll never see her again. When the new offer is rescinded, Kevin has to continue working with Audrey, despite her knowing his true feelings. The half-hour laffer comes from Barbie Adler, who penned the pilot (McG directed) and will serve as writer on the series.

Now that he’s done putting the finishing touches on
Child 44, the director will take on the project that is keeping details under wraps, but is described as being in the vein of a Cold War thriller. The screenplay comes from David Birke, whose credits include last year’s
13 Sins and the fact-based serial killer tales
Freeway Killer and
Gacy.

Louis Letterier is about to sign on to helm Anthony Jaswinski’s script, which follows a single surfer attacked by a Great White Shark and marooned on a reef, bleeding and in dire need of medical attention. The wrinkle? That big toothy fish is merrily swimming about between her and help. Producers Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem of newly-formed Weimaraner Republic Pictures are steering the project.
