Show’s stars Keegan-Michael Key & Jordan Peele popular sketch, about an inner-city substitute teacher - Mr. Garvey - who has trouble adjusting to a classroom full of middle-class white students, has been picked up by the studio. Key, who stars in the sketch, will also star in the feature adaptation, with Peele as a rival teacher determined to be the students’ favorite. Rich Talarico and Alex Rubens (co-producers of "Key & Peele") have been hired to pen the script.

The Fighter writers Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy wrote a draft of the screenplay that piqued Fox's interest enough to bite. The studio then turned to Zetumer.

News of Lee’s involvement comes hot on the heels of Monday’s reveal that Shannon Doherty would also be reprising her role. Also confirmed to return are Michael Rooker, Stan Lee, Jason Mewes, and of course Smith himself as Silent Bob. Still unknown is if Claire Forlani, Jeremy London, Joey Lauren Adams, Ben Affleck, Ethan Suplee, and Renée Humphrey will return.

Indie distributor has picked up
Sneakerheadz, a documentary about the world of sneaker collecting. Directed by David T. Friendly and Mick Partridge, the film includes rapper Wale, skateboarder Rob Dydrek and designer Jeff Staple. The film will be released in theaters and on VOD this fall.

Network and production company Warner Bros. TV have opted to hold off on the project, from creators Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer, and has instead pushed it to next season. The decision was made after the comedy had undergone a table read and a run-through as it was gearing up for taping. The consensus was that the project in its current form didn’t live up to its potential and that it would benefit from redevelopment.
