The Yallwest 2015 Hit List: Eight Available YA Titles

This past weekend, SALLOWEST hit Santa Monica. The event had 37 New York Times Bestselling authors and 36 local and acclaimed authors and artists among many others fielding questions at panels, book signings and workshops. To wrap-up the event SSN picked eight YA novels ripe for adaptation. (SSN)

On the Set For 4/13/15: Margot Robbie Wraps ‘Fun House’ and Starts ‘Suicide Squad’, Dave Franco Begins ‘Nerve’

Franco is working with Emma Roberts on the YA adaptation, while Elijah Wood starts The Greasy Strangler. Meanwhile, a number of projects wrap principal photography, including Oppenheimer Strategies with Richard Gere and Lauren Cohan in The Boy. (SSN)

Miles Teller Will Be Branching Out, Will Produce ‘Home Is Burning’, as Well as Star

New Line has bought upcoming the upcoming memoir by Dan Marshall, with Warm Bodies helmer Jonathan Levine set to direct. In Home Is Burning, which will hit shelves in October via Flatiron Books, Marshall recounts when he had to move home (into his parents' basement) to help out after his mother faced a cancer relapse and his father was diagnosed with ALS. Steven Spielberg’s ‘The BFG’ Adds More Cast, and Disney Jumps On Board, as Well

The Walt Disney Studios has also joined the project to co-produce and co-finance, making The BFG the very first time Spielberg is directing a Disney-branded movie. The adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel will star Mark Rylance as the title character and Ruby Barnhill as Sophie, the young orphan who travels to Giant Country. The film will also feature Penelope Wilton, Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement. (COL)

Katee Sackhoff Has a New TV Show In Her Immediate Future

The Battlestar Galactica alumna is set to topline another drama set in the future, this one her own creation. Sackhoff has teamed with Continuum producer Reunion Pictures for the project, Rain, which she wrote and is executive producing though her Fly Free Productions. Show is described as an evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff). (DH)

Gugu Mbatha-Raw Becomes the Latest Name To Join Bill Condon’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Remake

The actress will play Plumette the feather duster - maid of the castle prior to the Enchantress' spell, who is also Lumiere's girlfriend. She is transformed into a feather duster after the curse. The movie stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the beast, and Luke Evans as Gaston. It hits theaters in March of 2017. (SAA)

Sarah Paulson Enjoys Working With Ryan Murphy So Much, She’s Returning To Another Season Of ‘AHS’

Just a few days after American Hotel Story alum Kathy Bates was confirmed to rejoin the series for the upcoming Hotel, Paulson has checked in as well. In true Ryan Murphy style, the showrunner tweeted that “AHS” mainstay Paulson will be returning for the fifth season. Paulson has starred in all four of the previous installments. She joins the previously announced Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny. (VAR)
