Whiplash star is set to topline the supernatural thriller series
Counterpart for Starz, with
The Imitation Game helmer Morten Tyldum set to direct the first two episodes. The show is described as an espionage thriller with a metaphysical twist, as Simmons will star as “a lowly cog in a bureaucratic UN agency who is turning the last corner of a life filled with regret, when he discovers the agency he works for is guarding a secret: a crossing to a parallel dimension.

Michael Winterbottom is in talks to direct
Russ & Roger Go Beyond, which tells the tale of how Meyer and Roger Ebert traveled to Hollywood and the 20th Century Fox lot to write the X-rated
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. Christopher Cluess penned the script about this rather wild chapter in Roger Ebert's life. Filming will begin later in the year, but of course, the role of Ebert still needs to be filled.

The second season will consist of 20 new episodes, slated to debut in 2016. The first season, which has boosted Spike’s exposure both in the television landscape and digital arena, has welcomed the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Emily Blunt, John Legend, Common, The Rock, Justin Bieber, John Krasinski dressed in drag and Anne Hathaway on a wrecking ball.

Lost is renewing his deal with Warner Bros. TV for three more years. He first signed with the studio in 2012. The studio produces his existential drama
The Leftovers, which had its freshman run in summer 2014 and is the first project HBO bought from an outside studio.

Rupert Sanders is directing the project, a live action remake of the legendary Japanese anime original. That 1989 classic spawned three manga editions, three films a TV series and several video games. Story focuses on Motoko Kusanagi (Johansson), a cyborg law enforcer and part of the member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission, which specializes in tackling technology-related crimes. Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing.
