A Dozen Years After Their Last Movie Together, Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan Will Re-Team For ‘Shanghai Dawn’

Duo’s first kung-fu western, Shanghai Noon came out in 2000, followed three years later by Shanghai Knights. Now, there is talk of taking the pair to the Middle East for the third installment, though no details are forthcoming. Series creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough are apparently not in the frame, nor is there a director on board, but the project is being overseen for MGM by original producer Jonathan Glickman. Hulu Officially Comes To the Rescue Of ‘The Mindy Show’

The online streaming service picked up the sitcom for a 26-episode fourth season. It will join Hulu's Original Programming slate, a week after Fox cancelled the show. Rumors began almost immediately that Hulu would save the show, and that was finally confirmed this morning. (HP)

Michelle Williams Looks Set To Join Matthew McConaughey’s Mining Drama

Edgar Ramirez also stars in the film, which is inspired by true events, but isn’t the actual story of the 1993 Bre-X Minerals mining scandal, in which vast amounts of gold were reportedly discovered in the Indonesian jungle. Stephen Gaghan is directing and Teddy Schwarzian’s Black Bear Pictures is fully financing. (VAR)

‘Don’t Knock Twice’, but Katee Sackhoff Just Signed On To Star In a New Horror Movie

The star of Battlestar Galactica and Longmire will play the lead in the movie, based on a psychologically terrifying urban legend. To save her estranged daughter, a guilt-ridden mother must uncover the terrifying truth behind the urban legend of a vengeful, demonic witch. Cargo James is directing the script by Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler. Shooting will start in July in the UK. (CS)

Fans Of the 2011 Cult Hit ‘Goon’ Will Get Some Good News Today, as the Sequel Is Finally Moving Forward

Titled Goon: Last of the Enforcers, the new film will once again star Seann William Scott as Doug “the Thug” Glatt. Jay Baruchel, who produced, co-wrote, and co-starred in the original Goon, will direct. The new film marks Baruchel’s feature directing debut, although he’s done TV (Trailer Park Boys) and short film (Edgar and Jane) before. (SF)

Nicole Holofcener Starts Down the Road To a New Movie, Snags Julianne Moore and Chris O’Dowd To Star

The Enough Said writer-director’s Can You Ever Forgive Me? is based on the memoir by Lee Israel, and tells her story about turning to counterfeiting letters of dead writers and celebrities, and selling them to make ends meet. No information yet on a shooting date, but Fox Searchlight is behind the project. (TP)

Dozens Upon Dozens Of A-List Stars Have Signed Up For Next Week’s ‘Red Nose Day Special

More than 65 Hollywood A-listers have signed on for NBC’s special, a live three-hour charity event to aid children living in poverty throughout the world. It will air live from 8-11 PM ET on Thursday May 21 ,with appearances by Julia Roberts, Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jodie Foster, among others. The special also will feature comedy, musical performances and videos produced by Funny or Die. (DH)

First Look: ‘Preacher’

AMC’s comic book adaptation pilot has begun shooting, and executive producer Seth Rogen has tweeted out the first image from the show. The shot features Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer and Ian Colletti as Arseface. The pilot is under consideration for series consideration in 2016. (COL)
