Cable net has handed out its first orders to a comedy starring Nick Nolte, called
Graves, and the 10-part espionage thriller
Berlin Station. Both projects come from Epix’s parent companies Lionsgate and Paramount. A third series is in the works from MGM, the other parent in Epix’s trio of studio partners. Both have 10-episode straight-to-series orders.

Andrea Riseborough looks set to join Jack Huston, who has been cast as the lead role originated by the late Brandon Lee. Riseborough would play Top Dollar, who in the novel and the original movie was the baddest of the bad guys — yes, a guy — in the story of Draven, who comes back from the dead to avenge his girlfriend’s death after both were killed in a deadly attack. Michael Wincott played Top Dollar in the first film, which came out in 1994.

The Get Down tells the saga of how New York at the brink of bankruptcy gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco — told through the lives and music of the South Bronx kids who did it. Now, the father of hip-hop will serve as an associate producer and adviser on the drama series, with young actor Mamoudou Athie portraying Flash on-screen.

Guardians of the Galaxy series, as well as at least two others. Speculation has him, and his fellow Guardians, appearing in the two-part
Avengers: Infinity War, which will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and will hit theaters in 2018 and 2019.

Twelve-time Oscar nominee Roger Deakins has joined the project, which won’t even start shooting until the summer of 2016. Harrison Ford has been confirmed for a return as Rick Deckard, and Ryan Gosling has been heavily rumored for the lead role. The new film is written by
Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, from an idea by Fancher and Ridley Scott.

Fox Searchlight and Indian Paintbrush have released a new international trailer for the film, directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. The film was this year’s big winner at the Sundance Film Festival, taking home both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award. It opens June 12th.

Some brilliant script gurus lump the mentor in with other types of reflection characters, but it’s important to break this character off as separate and independent.
