Three O’Clock High. Ice Cube plays a teacher who challenges his mild-mannered colleague (Day) to an after school fist fight when he suspects the timid English teacher is trying to get him fired.

Jody Hill and Danny McBride, the duo behind the hit HBO series, will now be teaming with Josh Brolin for the new film. Brolin and McBride will star in the film, with Hill directing a script he wrote with McBride and John Carcieri. No plot details are being revealed, but what is know is that it is a comedy, Scott Rudin is producing, and it should be going before cameras this fall.

Based in New York City and L.A, Sculptor is being funded by an unnamed New York City-based private equity firm, with which Sculptor has struck an exclusive arrangement for single picture film finance. The start-up will produce talent and genre-driven independent film and TV projects, starting with
Urge, starring Pierce Brosnan, Ashley Greene and Alex Knapp, which shot last fall.

The actress is developing a big-screen take on the upcoming novel
Opening Belle, which also could be her next starring vehicle. She and her Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea are set to produce the story about a mother of three trying to balance home life with her Wall Street career during the year before the financial meltdown. Maureen Sherry Kinsky’s book, due out this year, is based loosely on her experiences as a managing director at Bear Stearns.

Joe Carnahan is in talks to write and possibly direct the film for the studio, which is looking to capitalize on the buzz star Will Smith is getting from the currently filming
Suicide Squad. Carnahan will be picking up where the last screenwriter to work on the project — David Guggenheim — left off, and could be given the chance to take over for Michael Bay, who helmed the first two installments in the franchise.
