ICM Partners: Swedish-born actor Michael Nyqvist has shifted from WME to ICM Partners. He’s known for playing Mikael Blomkvist in the original Swedish version of the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. He has since appeared in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and John Wick. Next up is I.T., the thriller starring Pierce Brosnan and Colonia with Emma Watson. On the TV side he stars in the Swedish drama series 100 Code.
CAA: Nic Pizzolatto who created and wrote every episode of True Detective’s first season that picked up five Emmys last ear has signed with CAA. The second season premieres June 21 with a new cast. Pizzolatto shifted from lit agency RWSG but will continue to be repped by Anonymous Content and Bloom Hergott. On the feature side he wrote the screenplay for the remake of The Magnificent Seven that’s currently in production.
WME: Lee Jones, the previously unknown Australian theater actor who won the lead role in Kurt Sutter’s upcoming FX period drama, The Bastard Executioner (with a 10 episode order) has decided to sign with WME. It was a competitive situation as before that he didn’t have a U.S. agent. He will continue to be repped by American managers, Eric Emery and Michael Valeo and Australian agent, Sophie Jermyn.
CAA: Kingsman: The Secret Service actress Sofia Boutella has signed with CAA. She’s having a banner year as she also snagged the female lead role in Star Trek 3, directed by Justin Lin. She was previously repped by Paradigm. She continues to be repped in the UK by Kate Buckley at 42 and attorney Fred Toczek.
UTA: Actress/writer Dolly Wells has signed on with UTA. She hails from England where she co-created and starred the comedy series Doll & Em, starring Emily Mortimer, on HBO/BSkyB. She will next be seen as a series regular on Starz’s comedy series Blunt Talk, co-starring opposite Patrick Stewart and Jackie Weaver. On the feature side, she’ll appear in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. She continues to be repped by Anonymous Content and Independent Talent Group.
CAA: Caitlyn Jenner has signed with CAA who will rep her for speaking engagements. The CAA Foundation will also advise her on ways to address LGBT issues. As part of the signing, CAA will work with her to create a platform for her activism on bringing awareness to the transgender community. Next month Jenner will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs.
