Emmy nomination voting opened yesterday and among those in the running for Best Actress in a Drama Series is Taraji B. Henson for her role as Cookie Lyon in the Fox break-out hit. That series is notable for something that should be commonplace in this day and age; having diverse actors in the starring roles of a hit series. Thankfully that’s getting more and more routine.

They’ve expanded the Best Comedy and Best Drama races to include 7 series, redefined Guest and Movie/Mini races following controversy, and so on. But most important of all, Emmy standard-bearers of the last few years seem to be on the decline or going off the air entirely.

Woody Harrelson will play the 36th president of the United States in the film, which will start shooting in September. Reiner will direct from a script by Joey Hartstone, which follows Johnson’s ascension from the poor hill country of West Texas to the corridors of power in Washington, being thrust into the Presidency by the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy and the passage of civil rights legislation.

Created, written and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, show stars Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton and Eva Green. A co-production with Sky Atlantic, show will once again shoot on location in Dublin, Ireland for a nine episode order to debut in 2016. The second season, currently airing on Sundays, will air its season finale on Sunday, July 5th.

Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have released the new trailer for the highly anticipated new adventures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang. The film will feature the voices of Noah Schnapp, Hadley Belle Miller, AJ Tecce, Noah Johnston, Venus Schultheis, Alexander Garfin, Francesca Capaldi, Mar Mar, Mariel Sheets and Rebecca Bloom, and is due in theaters in 3D on November 6th.
