Studio has given the thumbs up to the movie that will star Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt and be directed by
The Imitation Game helmer Morten Tyldum. And those salaries that were causing a problem? No more. Lawrence will get a staggering $20 million, against 30% of the film's profit if it breaks even, which puts her in the upper echelon of A-list stars. Meanwhile, Pratt will bag $12 million for the sci-fi two-hander, which starts shooting next month.

Eli Roth is in talks to direct the film which is based on a 1997 book written by Steve Allen. The project had been thought dormant for a good long while, but now a script by Dean Georgaris reportedly has Warner Bros. excited by the monster movie, leading to talks with Roth.

The filmmaker is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to helm the project, which has Michael Green at work on a new adaptation of the murder mystery. The book was first published in 1934, and sees Hercule Poirot investigating the murder of an American tycoon on a journey from Istanbul (Constantinople at the time) to Paris. Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg and Mark Gordon are all aboard as producers.

Jason Momoa, Thomas Middleditch and Famke Janssen are in negotiations to join Bruce Willis in an untitled action comedy being produced and directed by Mark and Robb Cullen, who wrote Willis’
Cop Out. Nicolas Chartier, Zev Foreman and Lauren Ford will be producing, with the movie eyeing a late-June start in Los Angeles. Willis is set to star as a private eye in Los Angeles whose professional and personal worlds collide when his dog is stolen by a gang.

Newcomer Taylor John Smith will star as an 18-year-old basketball star who is being recruited by Cornell. He seems to have it all figured out: captain of his team, a good student, has a longtime girlfriend and some good friends. But at home he's struggling with his troubled father (Shannon) who has a gambling addiction. His mother (Gugino) tries to keep the family afloat but has done so only with great emotional and financial sacrifice. Shooting begins this week.

Film Rites principal Steve Zaillian will produce the drama, with partner Garrett Basch executive producing. Mark Roybal will oversee for Fox.

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the film, based on an inspiring true story and starring David Oyelowo and Kate Mara. Film was directed by Jerry Jameson and produced by Terry Botwick, Jerry Jameson, David Oyelowo and Ken Wales in addition to BN Films’ Alex Garcia, Lucas Akoskin and Katrina Wolfe. It hits theaters September 18th.
