CAA: Uma Thurman who was repped from CAA from 1990 to 2011 has signed once more with the agency. After leaving CAA in 2011 she signed with WME, shifted to UTA in 2013 and has been without agency representation for the past year. Her upcoming features include the Cassian Elwes produced film The Brits Are Coming in preproduction, the Weinstein Co. produced film Adam Jones also starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller and awaiting release. In addition, she's been cast in films Anita, Blind, and Girl Soldier all in active development. Thurman continues to be represented by Untitled Entertainment and attorney James Adams at Schreck Rose.
3Arts: Full service agency MMA has signed an exclusive deal with 3Arts Entertainment to expand the reach of top mixed martial arts athletes including clients Urijah Faber, Chael Sonnen, Anthony Pettis, Chad Mendes, Lance Palmer and Paige VanZant to film, TV and digital. Multiple MMA atheltes already have projects in place including Faber who’s developing a reality series with Pilgrim TV. Sonnen has worked for ESPN as a commentator on Fox Sports’ UFC Tonight while Mendes is developing a hunting series.
WME: Director Clay Kaytis has signed with WME. He’ll be making his feature directorial debut with Sony’s upcoming Angry Birds movie starring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride and Maya Rudolph among others to be released May 20, 2016. He was previously a head of animation at Disney with credits on Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph and Bolt among many others. Kaytis will continue to be managed by Primary Wave Entertainment and repped by Weston, Garrou & Mooney.
UTA: Phil Rosenthal, most notable for creating Everybody Loves Raymond, has shifted from CAA to UTA and will be repped by Jay Sures and Gregory McKnight. His upcoming project is the one-hour international food travel series I’ll Have What Phil’s Having to debut in fall on PBS. He has a passion for food, having executive produced the 2013 documentary Spinning Plates about the restaurant scene, having invested in restaurants and naming his shingle after that love, Where’s Lunch. He continues to be repped by manager Howard Klein and lawyer Patti Felker. DDA: Producer Rick Bosner who was previously credited as the line producer on the indie hit Fruitvale Station and is developing the feature Other People with Adam Scott has signed with Dattner Dispoto and Associates (DDA) for representation.Gersh: Frank Whaley has inked with Gersh as a writer and director. His most recent feature, which he wrote and directed, was Like Sunday, Like Rain, starring Leighton Meester and Billie Joe Armstrong, released in March. His first feature, Joe the King, was awarded the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. He will continue to be repped by APA and Karen Forman Management for acting.
