UTA: German-born filmmaker Anja Marquardt has signed with UTA right off the success of her helming debut She’s Lost Control, which Monument Releasing debuts on March 20.
WME: Comedy star Aziz Ansari has signed with WME. The actor and stand-up comic stars in NBC's final season of Parks And Recreation. Ansari, who was repped by CAA, is currently touring his stand-up show Aziz Ansari Live! He is managed by 3 Arts. Mike Berkowitz at APA will continue to be his agent for stand-up.
UTA: Kenny Riches, the filmmaker behind The Strongest Man (which premiered in the NEXT section at Sundance), has signed with UTA.
ICM Partners: TV writer and playwright Theresa Rebeck inked with ICM. She was previously with CAA. She created the NBC drama Smash, and Rebeck’s series credits include Dream On, Brooklyn Bridge, L.A. Law, and Third Watch, Law And Order: Criminal Intent and NYPD Blue.
UTA: Unexpected writer-director Kris Swanberg has signed with UTA. The Sundance film stars Cobie Smulders and Anders Holm. Swanberg also wrote, directed, produced and starred in the film It Was Great, But I Was Ready To Come Home, which premiered in competition at the SXSW.
Gersh: Strangerland director Kim Farrant has signed with Gersh. The former actress is making her feature debut with the Sundance drama, which stars Nicole Kidman and Joseph Fiennes. UTA: Entourage’s Kevin Connolly has signed with UTA. He was previously with CAA. Connelly received a Golden Globe nomination in 2009 for playing Vince’s best friend and manager Eric “E” on the HBO dramedy.
