Phenomenon, Roseanne Montillo's biography of Betty Robinson, which details how Robinson became the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field and the incredible challenges she surmounted to win her second. Frank Marshall is on board to produce the adaptation along with Rob Weisbach. Montillo and Kevin Yorn will co-produce.

Filling the ranks are Arturo Castro, who will play “Mango”; Barney Harris, who will play “Sykes”; Beau Knapp, who plays “Crack”; Mason Lee, who plays “Foo”; Brian “Astro” Bradley, who plays “Lodis”; and Ismael Cruz Cordova, who plays “Holiday.” In addition, Makenzie Leigh will play Faison, a Texas cheerleader and love interest to main character Billy Flynn. They join actor Joe Alwyn, already cast in the title role.

Espinosa will helm a new adaptation of Vilhelm Moberg’s novel
The Emigrants, which was previously adapted for a 1971 movie that earned four Academy Award nominations, for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Story tells the tale of the epic journey of a couple who immigrate to American from Sweden in the 1850s seeking a better life. Petter Skavlan (
Kon-Tiki) will write the script and filming is slated to begin in 2017.

Fox has released the first full-length trailer of Ryan Murphy’s next creation, the horror-comedy mashup that will star Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Nasim Pedrad, Oliver Hudson, Skyler Samuels, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Diego Boneta, Glen Powell, Lucien Laviscount, Niecy Nash, Nick Jonas, and Ariana Grande. Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the project, which will premiere in the fall.
